Their sealing performance comparison: gate valve length is shorter than globe valve, height is higher than globe valve, open stem gate valve installation should pay attention to height. The gate valve can be tightly closed with the sealing surface depending on the medium pressure, so as to achieve the effect of no leakage. When opening and closing, the sealing surface of the valve core and seat always contacts and rubs against each other, so the sealing surface is easy to wear and tear. When the gate valve is close to closing, the pressure difference between the front and back of the pipeline is very large, which makes the wear of the sealing surface worse.
Advantages and disadvantages of gate valves and globe valves: the advantages of gate valves are small flow resistance, medium can flow in two directions, but they have the disadvantages of large size, complex structure and easy wear and tear of sealing surface. The flow resistance of globe valve is 3-5 times that of gate valve. The valve core of the globe valve contacts the sealing surface only when it is completely closed, so the wear of the sealing surface is very small. The globe valve with actuator should pay attention to the adjustment of the torque control mechanism because of the main flow.
